We are still tracking down our photos and videos from 2017! Meanwhile, instead of the Hilo Lei Day Festival Queen’s Tea, we assisted with the Liliʻuokalani Gardens tea in remembrance of Liliʻu. Please enjoy this video of the event. In the video, you can see lei given as hoʻokupu, offerings, in memory of the Queen.
The oli at the beginning, given by the young man carrying the lei, is the koʻihonua, or genealogical chant of Liliʻuokalani.
