Hilo Lei Day Festival needs YOU!

E Komo Mai! Write and let us know you’d like to kōkua the Hilo Lei Day Festival!

Lei Day 2025 will be the twentieth year since the founding of the Hilo Lei Day Festival. To make our 20th year the best it can be, we need YOUR to kōkua!

Not only would we love to have you sign up to participate on 1 May 2025, but we’d love to see all of your beautiful lei between now and Lei Day! Make a lei, wear a lei, share a lei and take pix and videos.

Upload with hashtags: #HiloLeiDayFestival2025 #20YearsOfLei #20YearsIn2025 #HiloLeiDay2025

We look forward to seeing your creativity!

Each year, we need support before, during, and after May 1 to make this festival better than ever, and to keep it going for generations!

The Hilo Lei Day Festival is a great activity for homeschool families! Learn Hawaiian Culture and Arts, and participate in the festival on May 1! Contact us at info@LeiDay.org to learn how!

You can also help to support the Hilo Lei Day Festival, and help to preserve and perpetuate the language of the lei, through your purchase of Hua ʻŌlelo Lei – A Lei Maker’s Glossary. Only 99 cents, because we want this valuable information to be as widely available as possible, but even tiny donations add up to big results!

If you would like to kōkua (help) with Lei Day preparations, contact us at Info(at)LeiDay(dot)org. Below Aunty Leilehua teaches how to make a fluffy lei hili to use as a rope for the stanchions to help with Lei Day distancing.
